These spring kits have been used for years for bootlids and other panels, they allow for quick opening and allow you to dispense with the locking mechanism, reducing weight into the bargain. We recommend using these for lightweight aluminium and composite panels. If using original steel bootlid panels or tailgates, a more substantial method is advised. GE53
